I’ve never heard this before either, so I had to check into it because I would never be able to listen to Grohl again without thinking what an idiot he must be. From what I’ve been able to find out, the bass player for the Foo Fighters read a HIV denial book (written by someone who died of AIDS eight years later) back in 2000 and convinced the rest of the band to get behind the cause and do a concert on behalf of the organization, and they linked the org on their site. The link is no longer on their site, and I could find no comment by Grohl on the issue anywhere. Yeah, it was a stupid thing for Grohl to get involved with, but I couldn’t find any proof that it was, or still is, anything that he was behind.
